Built in Melissa, for Melissa
Melissa's Trusted Plumber started with a simple observation: every plumbing company serving Melissa was based somewhere else. McKinney. Princeton. Frisco. Plano. They'd drive up US-75, fix the problem, and drive back. They didn't know our soil. They didn't know our water. They didn't know that a slab leak in a Liberty home and a slab leak in a McKinney home are caused by the exact same Blackland Prairie clay — but only one plumber shows up in 10 minutes instead of 30.
David Martinez moved to Melissa in 2011 when the population was barely 5,000 and US-75 was still two lanes through town. He'd spent 12 years as a journeyman plumber across Collin County, becoming the guy other plumbers called when they couldn't figure out a slab leak. In 2015, he went out on his own — not to build the biggest plumbing company in Texas, but to build the best one for Melissa.
Today, David's team serves over 1,500 Melissa families. We've diagnosed more clay-soil slab leaks than any plumber in the area, installed water softeners in half the new construction homes in Liberty, and answered emergency calls at 2 AM during the 2021 freeze when pipes were bursting across North Texas. We're not the biggest plumbing company — we're Melissa's plumbing company.
Our Values
Integrity
We show you the problem before we quote the fix — with camera inspection photos, not just words. You approve the scope before any work begins.
Local Knowledge
We know why your slab is leaking (Blackland Prairie clay), why your water heater died early (NTMWD hard water), and exactly which neighborhoods have which plumbing quirks.
Accountability
Every plumber who enters your home is our W-2 employee — background-checked, drug-tested, and personally trained by David. No subcontractors. No strangers.
Neighborliness
We treat your home like it belongs to a friend. We clean up after ourselves, explain things in plain English, and never upsell a repair you don't need.
Meet David Martinez
David is a TSBPE-licensed Master Plumber with over 25 years in the trade — 14 of them right here in Melissa. He and his wife Lisa raised two kids through Melissa ISD (go Cardinals), and you'll probably spot him at Zadow Park on Saturday mornings coaching youth soccer.
Before starting Melissa's Trusted Plumber, David was the journeyman that other Collin County plumbers called for tough slab leak diagnoses. He's crawled under more Melissa foundations than anyone, and he can tell you — just by looking at the soil — whether your home is in the high-risk zone for foundation pipe stress.
Why We Serve Melissa
Melissa isn't just where we work — it's where we live. We've watched this city grow from a quiet railroad town of 5,000 to a thriving community of over 26,000. We know the neighborhoods because we live in them. We know the new construction in Liberty and North Creek. We know the established homes near the original town center with their cast iron and copper. We know the clay soil that shifts with every summer drought and spring rain.
When you call Melissa's Trusted Plumber, you're not getting a dispatcher in Dallas who sends the nearest available truck. You're getting a neighbor who knows your street, knows your home's plumbing system, and genuinely cares about getting it right.
